By transferring focus and attention to the body and breath, yoga can help to reduce anxiety in the mind and tension in the body. Yoga can help decrease anxious thoughts, worry and panic, and is beneficial for calming the nervous system and encouraging us to slow down.
Joanna will lead students through yoga practices for emotional and energetic health. Students can increase their self-awareness, self-acceptance, and self-esteem while also increasing joy, relaxation, and restfulness. Asana (physical postures), pranayama (breathing techniques), mudra (hand positions), mantra (words of affirmation), and meditations will be guided by Joanna for a journey of self-discovery to promote healing, restore balance, and increase vitality.
