"Yoga for Early Childhood"

It's NEVER too early for yoga

Yoga for children is the union of their body, their brain, and their breath - and it's never too young to teach that! Yoga for our littlest kiddos is fun, playful, and full of music, movement, and mindfulness. Through breathing techniques, yoga adventures, and mindfulness, children can learn to connect with their body, identify feelings, and notice (and even change) their energy levels!  Educators can expect to have fun, be engaged, and learn how to effectively incorporate yoga into their early education setting.

"Yoga as behavior support"

Send teachers into the classroom with tools they can use right away

Behavior can be a disruption to teachers, students, and the overall classroom environment. Whether explosive or nagging, trying to manage behavior can be time consuming, exhausting, and at times may feel like a futile effort.  Yoga is a skillset to provide teachers with tools to support behavior in school - large groups, small groups, or 1:1. In this workshop, Heather will provide an overview of behavior and how it might present itself in typically developing children as well as children with special needs. She will demonstrate ways that yoga can be used both proactively and reactively.

"Yoga for every learner"

Yoga reaches all learners - auditory, visual, and kinesthetic

Teachers have classes and caseloads full of all types of learners - learn how to help THEM learn!  Heather will provide an overview of learning styles and common disabilities that might be supported by yoga. She will share an overview of what Yoga in the classroom could look like and how it supports all types of learners.
**Heather also teaches yoga classes in classrooms - read more about bringing yoga to your school here.

"Yoga Lessons connected to curriculum"

Have fun while you teach! Yoga can bring curriculum to life.

There is so. much. curriculum. in schools. Lots of frameworks, common core, standards, and goals.
In this workshop, Heather will demonstrate select lesson plans that are connected to the curriculum of your choice to show how to make learning come alive. You will leave this workshop with access to ALL lesson plans of your subject of choice (see below).
